ABOUT

Ferris Haukom is a sophomore at Stanford Online High School and a classical composer, conductor, violinist, and violist. He is a participant in Sunset ChamberFest and a new member of the LA Phil Composer Fellowship Program.  He has also been a member of the PYSO Philharmonic for four years and participant in the Pasadena Conservatory’s Chamber Program for five years.  Aside from Ferris’ musical pursuits, his other interests include quantum and theoretical physics, computer programming, machine learning, journalism, and entrepreneurship.  He satisfies his physics-based interests through studying as well as reading and writing research papers and his computer-based interests by creating various models and programs.  Ferris is also the World News Editor for the Stanford OHS Observer and is in the process of founding Hydro-Volt, an environmentally conscious water purification company.
