ABOUT

Ferris Haukom is a rising senior at Stanford Online High School.  He is also a composer, conductor, violinist, violist, and music enthusiast.  Ferris has been formally studying composition with Jordan Nelson for seven years and violin with Elizabeth Hedman at the Pasadena Conservatory of Music for nine years.  He has been a participant in Sunset ChamberFest for five years and is going into his third year as a member of the LA Phil Composer Fellowship Program.  One of Ferris’ primary goals as a composer is to create music that represents a variety of worlds or visual spaces. He is also passionate about language, including journalism, writing, and editing, as well as reading and studying texts.
